2023 Sustainability Report

Social Responsibility

Tapex acknowledge that recognizing and implementing social responsibility is a key element of sustainability management.
Based on this, we are continuously managing and improving core issues of social responsibility management, such as human rights, labor practices, ethics, fair trade, and coexistence with the local community.

In order to implement human rights management that respects the human rights of all stakeholders, we comply with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) and the 'Guidelines for the Implementation of Business and Human Rights' published by the United Nations. We have established our internal human rights policy for operation.

Basic Principles of Human Rights Management

  • Respect for Human Rights

We respect all executives and employees personality-wide and strive to resolve any elements that threaten human rights.

  • Ban on Discrimination

We do not unfairly discriminate personnel matters in relation to hiring, promotion, wages, benefits, etc. based on gender, race, religion, disability, origin, pregnancy, etc.

  • Ban on forced labor and child labor

We do not unfairly restrict emotional and physical freedom of executives and employees, and child labor is prohibited in principle.

  • Fair Compensation

We guarantee minimum wage for workers as governed by rules and regulations of the country, and we respect workers’ right to fair wage at the least, equal compensation to labor of equal value.

  • Work Hour Compliance

We comply with the working hours stipulated in labor-related laws and do not force employees to work over the prescribed working hours.

  • Guarantee of Freedom of assembly and association-bargaining

We recognize the right to freedom of assembly and association-bargaining, and create an environment where workers can communicate smoothly with the company.

Human Rights Violation Prevention Program

We run a variety of programs to prevent human rights violations and identify related issues for internal and external stakeholders in advance. We also transparently disclose human rights management-related activities and its performance.

Human rights-related grievance handling system

  1. 1) Grievance handling committee system (listening to and handling workers' grievances)
  • - composed of not more than three members of a labor-management council (appointed by the council)
  • - notify the worker concerned of the contents of any measure taken and other results of handling within ten days from the date of hearing. (write and keep the subject)
  1. 2) Grievance Handling Box
  • - Gather and handle various opinions related to human rights violations by providing grievance handling boxes at each business site
(Promptly resolve workers’ grievances and use them to evaluate and improve human rights impacts)

Human rights violation reporting system for internal and external stakeholders

  • - Online reporting system on our website is in operation (specified the protection system for informants such as anonymity)

Human Rights Education Program

We run various training programs at least once a year for all employees to raise their awareness on human rights and to prevent human rights violations.
